Mother-Daughter Writing Duo
Eriana Halewood is the pen name of Indira Hall and Micciah Pickron, the mother-daughter team behind Pixie Quill, a small indie children's book publishing company. Their debut book was inspired by Micciah's grandmother's battle with schizophrenia. Since then, they have expanded their catalog to include a diverse range of genres, from non-fiction to fantasy. Their mission is to create children's books that tackle complex topics like mental illness, diversity, and compassion, making these important conversations accessible to young readers.
Turning Life's Challenges into Magical Tales
Indira Hall is an accountant by day and a writer by night, while Micciah Pickron is a senior in high school and an aspiring psychologist. The idea for their book "My Grandma's Magical Mind" originated from brainstorming passion projects for college. Over the years, dealing with Micciah's grandmother's schizophrenia has been very challenging with little support. They hope this book inspires families to have more meaningful conversations about mental health and encourages people to view those with mental illness with greater compassion.
